SUPERHERO ART MAKERS

It’s time to Save the World! In this Super-fun series participants will use a variety of powerful art techniques to create their own superheroes. Bring your super art-making-powers and prepare to save the day!
CARTOONING & ANIMATION

Learn about flipbooks, story boards, character creation and more. This class will engage the imagination and teach participants traditional animation, using problem solving and collective brainstorming to create both group and individual projects.

Looking for something creative to do while enjoying a cup of coffee and sweets? Paint a Monet masterpiece with a group of inspiring people.. You will learn how to apply Monet’s techniques and complete a finished work of art – all in one sitting! Workshop price includes all art supplies, coffee, sweets and instruction; the fun is free.

Develop your watercolour painting with expert guidance that will push you to new levels of artistry. Lessons include brushwork, values, colour blending, and textures. There will be special emphasis on design elements and creative development, from backgrounds to a finished painting.

SQUARE ROOTS PROJECT
OH CANADA—MAPPING OUR ROOTS

This workshop invites you to contribute to a deeper understanding of what it means to be Canadian. Utilizing the ancient medium of encaustic (natural warm beeswax), participants can collage, paint, write or carve out personal connections with our ‘true North strong and free’ or that depict well known Canadians that have impacted ways of thinking about our ‘home and native land’. No experience required. All participants must be registered for the Square Roots Project and will create on their 8” X 8” square!

INTRODUCTION TO ACRYLIC

Thursdays: January 19-March 2
$60 Members/$65 Non-Members
This introductory course will guide participants through colour theory, uses of acrylic applications and creativity. Through 6 sessions participants will be introduced to a variety of acrylic styles and concepts - perfect for a beginning painter.
