MINI MAKER MORNINGS
For ages 5 – 8 years
9:30am – 12:00 pm
Children will learn important skills and work with a variety of materials while exploring a new theme each day! Exciting projects will challenge and entertain students.
AVID ARTIST AFTERNOONS
For ages 8 –12 years
1:30pm – 4:00 pm
Students will learn techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media, while being taught about art and artists. Each day will cover new ideas, artists and skills.
Thursday: Collage & Book Arts
Friday: Found Object Sculpture
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Julie Wurtele has studied Fine Art in England, UK and Dundas Valley School of Art, Ontario. She regularly exhibits her work in galleries an juried shows across Ontario. She is a member of the Burlington Fine Arts Association and an art teacher for the Oakville Art Society, the Grimsby Public Art Gallery as well as an independent instructor for
private clients. Classes include drawing, painting, abstraction, colour theory, collage, wood engraving, clay crafts, card making, jewellery and floral arranging.
She has developed a unique teaching method using shapes and symbols children and adults can relate to, breaking the project down step by step and encouraging the development of individual styles. She believes anyone can learn to be a great artist. She teaches art and crafts from kindergarten to seniors in various locations across the GTA, runs children’s birthday art parties, ladies paint nights and offers private art therapy to children and adults.
