Spend your Summer with us!

We have camps for Kids, drop-ins for Teens and Courses & Workshops for adults!

Painting, printmaking, clay, collage, sculpture, book arts, mixed media, found object art and so much more! Children will learn important skills while exploring a new fun and educational theme each week. These exciting projects are sure to challenge and entertain students all Summer long! 


Week 1: July 13- 17
Wild Animal Safari
Regular 1/2 day: 
Members $80/ Non-members $96

What kid doesn’t love animals? For those students with an equal love of wildlife and the Arts, this week will explore the captivating world of zoology through works of art inspired by their favourite beasts!

Week 2: July 20 – 24
Space Invaders!
Regular 1/2 day: 
Members $80/ Non-members $96

Kids in spaaace! This is the week for all the little space cadets out there who love looking up at the night sky, counting stars, finding constellations and dreaming about the Milky Way. Learn about the cosmos through art, and maybe run into an alien or two along the way!

*Week 3: August 4 - 7 (no class Monday)
Creative Comic Makers
For Ages 5 - 8 years 
9:00am - 3:30pm
Extended care is available for an additional $30  
Extended care begins at 8:30am & ends at 5pm

The Grimsby Public Art Gallery and the Grimsby Public Library invite you to  come explore the wonderful world of comics, character creation, and book-related arts. Through an exciting combination of literacy and creativity, students will create artworks and stories to share!

Week 4 : August 10 - 14 
Earth Week: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse!
Regular 1/2 day:

Don’t throw it out, make it into Art! Students will be amazed to discover the infinite creative possibilities of every day objects, all you need is imagination and a love of nature! Be Green and grow through the Arts!

Week 5: August 17 - 21
Fantasy Art Week
Regular 1/2 day:

In a land far, far away, on a street named  Carnegie Lane, brave heroes and crafty villains will gather to  create wondrous works inspired by legends and myths of old. This is the perfect week for 
Fantasy-loving students!

Week 6: August 24 - 28
Deep Sea Adventures
Regular 1/2 day:

Yarrr mateys! What fascinating creatures and lost treasures lie at the bottom of the ocean? Students will explore the watery depths through art projects inspired by sea life, ship wrecks, mythological creatures and much more!

The Doors of Creativity (Drop-In)

With an entire door as your canvas, what can you 
create? Let your creativity run rampant by painting a door to be used promote Doors Open Grimsby.

Animation and Zines Maker Week  (Drop-In)

If you’re interested in stop motion animation or making your own magazine, please join us for a week of maker workshops. We'll get your animated movie posted on Youtube and publish multiple copies of the zine you 


Costume Life-Drawing 
(No Instructor) 
Thursdays: July 16- August 27, 2015
6 Sessions
$70 Members/ $80 non-members

This six  session course will offer artists the opportunity to work from a model in costume  As with our regular Open Studio format quick studies to extended poses will be explored. Artists are free to choose their own media. 
* Please note that oils, sprays, varnishes and solvents are not permitted in the studio

‘En Plein Air’ Saturdays (Outdoor Painting)

The summer’s here, and it’s time to paint in beautiful green fields with vineyard views!  Through 4 sessions, there will be lots of time to immerse yourself in making art. Painting outdoors improves your skills when working back in the studio. Learn about simplifying your pallet, working fast in the changing light, mark making/ brushwork and paint handling, as well as colour and value relationships.
