Grimsby Public Art Gallery requires the services of a part time Project Coordinator to ensure the success of our 40th Anniversary project, The Art of 40: Celebrating 40 Years of Celebrating Art. The position will last approximately 12 weeks, from July 13 – October 2, 2015; the coordinator will work 14 hours per week for the first 6 weeks, 21 hours per week for the remainder of the time. The Art of 40 will be a series of four installations in GPAG’s sculpture garden during the late summer and fall of 2015. Niagara artists have been invited to submit proposals that address the 40 year relationship between GPAG and the region, that celebrate this significant milestone and that look toward future achievements. As part of their proposal, artists have been asked to develop a public program that encourages community participation, and the project will be documented and preserved in a digital/print publication. The Project Coordinator’s job will be to ensure that the artists have the support and resources they need to complete and install their works; that the project is properly promoted and documented and that all related events are well-planned and successfully executed. This project and position are primarily funded by the Niagara Region’s Niagara Investment in Culture Incentive Program.
