KARA JONGELING

THE ANIMALISTIC WORLD OF
HIERONYMUS BOSCH’S GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS

Kara will be exploring and explaining the strange world of Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights, a triptych dated 1490-1510.
Normally explained with religious context, this talk will focus on the animals and creatures within the artwork
from a religious as well as an animal rights stance within the Medieval ages.

ABOUT KARA

Kara Jongeling is a 23 year-old Art History student in her final year at Brock University. Originally pursuing a career in Psychology, Kara fell in love with the Impressionist art movement and has been exploring the art world ever since. A huge supporter of the arts and local businesses, she regularly attends her hometown's Art Crawl for its art and music scene, dabbling in music herself. Kara has retained her great interest in Psychology and looks forward to mixing the two worlds together by pursuing post-graduate studies in Addictions Counselling and Art Therapy.
