Summer Programmes are officially open for registration!

Painting, printmaking, clay, collage, sculpture, book arts, mixed media, found object art and so much more! Children will learn important skills while exploring a new fun and educational theme each week. These exciting projects are sure to challenge and entertain students all Summer long! 

Of course, we certainly have workshops for TEENS and ADULTS too!

Mini Makers Mornings

Week 1: July 14 - 18
Circus Week: Under The Big Top!
Regular 1/2 day:

Calling all little ringmasters! Clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, tightrope walkers, jugglers, unicyclists and stunt artists are all waiting to come to life through a variety of spectacular art projects you will make during this fun-filled-week! 

Week 2: July 21 – 26
Space Invaders!
Regular 1/2 day: 
Members $80 / Non-members $96
Kids in spaaace! This is the week for all the little space cadets out there who love looking up at the night sky, counting stars, finding constellations and dreaming about the Milky Way. Learn about the cosmos through art, and maybe run into an alien or two along the way!

Week 3: July 28 – August 1
Wild Animal Safari
Regular 1/2 day: 
Members $80 / Non-members $96
What kid doesn’t love animals? For those students with an equal love of wildlife and the Arts, this week will explore the captivating world of zoology through works of art inspired by their favourite beasts!

Arts & Letters 
For Ages 5 - 8 years

Extended care is available for an additional $30  
Extended care begins at 8:30am and ends at 5:00pm
The Grimsby Public Art Gallery and the Grimsby Public Library invite your little Book Worms to come explore the wonderful world of books and book-related arts. Through an exciting combination of literacy and creativity, students will create artworks and stories to share!

Week 5: August 11- 15 
Earth Week: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse!
Regular 1/2 day:

Don’t throw it out, make it into Art! Students will be amazed to discover the infinite creative possibilities of every day objects, all you need is imagination and a love of nature! Be Green and grow through the Arts!

Week 6: August 18 - 22
Fantasy Art Week
Regular 1/2 day: 
Members $80 / Non-members $96
In a land far, far away, on a street named      Carnegie Lane, brave heroes and crafty villains will gather to  create wondrous works inspired by legends and myths of old. This is the perfect week for Fantasy-loving students!

Week 7: August 25– 29
Deep Sea Adventures
Regular 1/2 day: 
Members $80 / Non-members $96
Yarrr mateys! What fascinating creatures and lost treasures lie at the bottom of the ocean? Students will explore the watery depths through art projects inspired by sea life, ship wrecks, mythological creatures and much more!


Art Club Junior (ages 5-8)

Each week , students will create a project in a different theme or media, make friends and learn valuable skills in a creative and fun environment. 
Students will learn the basics of fundamental art  practices and media while creating exciting works of art.

Arts Club Senior (ages 9-12)

As a continuation to ArtsClub Jr., each week , students will continue to enhance existing skills and be introduced to new ones (open to all levels)
Emphasis will be placed on weekly projects, drawing & painting techniques and 3 dimensional art projects. Topics including Art History, linear perspective, colour theory, and form will be introduced in a relaxed, stress-free environment.


Fundamentals of Art (ages 12-16)

Open to all experience levels, the Fundamentals of Art will take students through traditional aspects of drawing, painting, composition, perspective and creativity.  Each week will present a different project utilizing traditional and modern techniques in art.

Introduction to Landscape Photography

Whether you’re someone looking to improve your holiday snapshots or an amateur wanting to learn more about landscape photography, you’ll enjoy spending time with Grimsby photographer Tom Stirr and his Introduction to Landscape Photography presentation. You’ll have a chance to view a selection of Tom’s images and get some insights on three key areas that can help you improve your landscape photography.

Monoprinting Workshop (Full-Day)

Monoprinting is an exciting, innovative form of printmaking that allows artists to create unique one-of-kind prints!  Experiment with rag wiping, wet and dry brush painting and printing found objects, such as lace, string and leaves.  Create wonderful images with unique patterns and textures.  Print with nontoxic inks on Western and Japanese papers using a delightful little etching press! Explore your inner Picasso!  No experience necessary – beginners welcome 
**A $15 materials fee payable to the instructor will cover the cost of all supplies.

This Open Studio format allows each artist to        determine their own needs ~ quick studies to        extended poses. There is no instructor and each   participant chooses their own media. No materials are provided by the gallery.
